Does Your Mortgage Company Marketing Material Suck?
More than likely your mortgage company marketing material des suck. And I'll tell you why. It's just like everyone else’s. It is the blind following the blind. And taking the very bad advice of advertising reps that don't got a clue about marketing. Yep it happens in every industry not just the mortgage industry. If you truly want to do some great mortgage company marketing all you have to do is be different.
So how do you become different?
Don't run the same types of ads as everyone else. You know what I am talking about. You companies name in big bold letters. A laundry list of all the types of loans you do. And of course the fact that you have low rates, fees, and excellent customer service. And I almost forgot the lame slogan of "Our customers don't care how much we know, they know how much we care." or something else like that.
How do you expect to stand out with that type of "Image" advertising? You won't you'll get lost in the crowd.
First you want to focus your advertisements on the type of client you want. Your mortgage company marketing could go after first time homebuyers, construction loans, foreclosure bailouts, investors, debt consolidation, people with ARMs etc. etc.
Second you need to have a message that matches the market you are going after.
Third keep in mind that they don't give a crap about you. They don't care how low your rates are; they don't care if you've been in the business for 30 years. They only care about what you can do for them.
Fourth you need a kick ass headline to draw them into reading your advertisement. Something like "10 Things Every Renter Should Know About Buying A Home With Zero Down" or "How To Get Instant Equity Using A Construction Loan"
Fifth make sure you advertisement is full of benefits not features. As an example a feature would be "zero down" a benefit would be "keep you cash".
Finally make sure you have a call to action. What do you want them to do? Call you, visit your website, call a recorded message hotline, request more information, or stop by your office.
If you just make your ads stand out and be different you mortgage company marketing will be killing the competition. You'll be laughing your way to the bank.
